New recruits for Advanced Manufacturing Park

ROTHERHAM’S Advanced Manufacturing Park has welcomed two new businesses who have moved into premises on the growing site.

The first to move into the technology centre was Exova, a company with 30 years experience in testing and advisory services.

The company has headquarters in Edinburgh and operates from more than 110 facilities in 25 countries and employs more than 3,500 people.

TEKS, a privately-owned French company, has also set up base at the site in Catcliffe.

The business is a member of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and specialises in process design and clean technologies.

The pair join a growing list of 18 companies based at the AMP Technology Centre.

Head of business development at the AMP, Joe Anwyl, said: "Interest in the facilities at the park is at an all-time high, as companies from the region and beyond recognise the benefits of being based at the heart of the UK's advanced materials and metals industry."

These latest signings follow hard on the heels of the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's announcement that it will be based at the AMP, alongside the established AMRC Rolls-Royce Factory, a global centre of excellence for manufacturing technologies for aerospace and other high tech industries.

The building will feature accommodation over three stories including laboratory and technical support space, office space and meeting rooms.

There will be public exhibition space by the entrance, to host a Nuclear in the Community exhibition to promote industry and employment opportunities.
