PORSCHE'S go anywhere fast in any conditions coupe, the 911 Turbo, is set to benefit from changes that will boost power and efficiency.
The latest version of the all-wheel-drive rocketship will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show between September 15 and 27 and Porsche are boasting improved fuel efficiency, lower weight, more power, higher speed and enhanced driving dynamics.
Topping its list of headline grabbing features is a 3.8 litre engine producing a thumping 500bhp.
The first entirely new engine in the Turbo's 35-year-history features Direct Fuel Injection and Porsche's exclusive turbocharger with variable turbine geometry.
And as an option, the new six-cylinder may be combined for the first time with Porsche's seven-speed double-clutch gearbox and launch control.
While reducing CO2 emissions by almost 18 per cent over its predecessor and returning around 24mpg the Turbo should be good for a supercar-slaying 3.4 second sprint to 62mph and 194mph top speed.
Sales of the new Porsche 911 Turbo start in Germany on November 21 and should arrive in the UK later in the year with prices starting from £101,823 for the coupe and £109,048 for the cabriolet.
