New Clifton hospital could create 100 jobs

A NEW private hospital could create as many as 100 new jobs.

The Kinvara Private Hospital will be officially opened next Thursday (January 31) in the refurbished premises of the former Birkdale Clinic in Clifton, with the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Alan Buckley, doing the honours.

It will offer a range of surgical and medical services and will also be a specialist base for surgery for the chronic fat disorder lipoedema.

A spokeswoman said 20 posts had already been filled, including cleaners, medical receptionists, health care assistants, anaesthetists and surgeons and those could rise to 50 later in the year and possibly hit three figures in the long-term.

She said owners Karri Clinic aimed to run the best independent hospital in the north of England.

Hospital manager Gemma Atkinson added: This is the first phase of Kinvaras refurbishment, with phase two being an extended clinical area and phase three a patient hotel which will be situated on site  all of which  will be completed by the end of 2019.

She added that the owners were keen to hire people from Rotherham.
