NCA trial: Sexual abuse case halted until February next year

THE trial of four men accused of sexually abusing two teenage girls and plying them with drink and drugs has been adjourned until next year.

Amin Aslam (36), of Leatham Avenue, Masbrough, Yasser Iqbal Hussain (35), of Norborough Road, Tinsley, Azad Akram Raja (35), of Adney Street, Sheffield, and a fourth defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, went on trial on Monday at Sheffield Crown Court accused of 12 child sex offences.

But the case was halted yesterday and adjourned until February 24, 2020.

The offences involved are alleged to have been committed against two schoolgirls in the early 2000s when they were as young as 13 and the defendants were aged between 15 to 21.
