Murder probe after woman found dead

POLICE have launched a murder hunt after an incident at a home in Rotherham town centre.

A 36-year-old woman, named today as Kerry Sneddon, was found at the property on Whybourne Grove shortly after 11.30pm on Sunday and died at Rotherham General Hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterdayand remains in police custody.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious activity on Whybourne Grove between 10pm and midnight on Sunday. Witnesses are asked to call the incident room at Main Street Police Station in Rotherham on 01709 832260.
