Murder arrest after death of 'wounded' pedestrian in collision with car

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was found in a Rotherham street yesterday.

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a man was found in a Rotherham street last night.

Police said they had been called at 7.16pm yesterday to reports of a pedestrian having been in collision with a car on Herringthorpe Valley Road.

“After initial investigations he was also found to have received an injury consistent with a puncture wound to his neck," said a spokesperson.

“A postmortem is yet to be completed and a cause of death has not been determined."

The spokesperson said a 25-year-old man from Sheffield had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“Enquiries are ongoing," they added.
