Multiple vehicles torched across Rotherham and the Dearne Valley

A NUMBER of vehicles have been set on fire across Rotherham and the Dearne Valley over the weekend.

A NUMBER of vehicles were set on fire across Rotherham and the Dearne Valley over the weekend. 

In the early hours of Saturday morning (January 2), a crew from Rotherham station was called to Cinder Bridge Road, Greasbrough, to tackle a car set alight at 4.25am.

A van was also torched in Braithwell on Saturday. Firefighters from Maltby were called to Cockhill Field Lane at 9.20pm.

They left the scene after 30 minutes.  

On Sunday, another vehicle was torched, this time in Kimberworth Park. 

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called Leybourne Road in the early hours at 12.15am and came away from the scene at 12.55am. 

In the same morning over in Edlington, a van was set alight on Thomas Street, with a crew from Edlington station arriving on scene at 3.20am.

The makes and models of the vehicles are not currently known .

All of the fires are being treated as deliberate, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
