Multiple fires across the Dearne Valley overnight

SEVERAL fire incidents took place across the Dearne Valley overnight.

SEVERAL nuisance fires were set across the Dearne Valley overnight. 

Firefighters were called out to two different fires in Denaby Main, as well as incidents in Bolton-upon-Dearne and Wath.

In Denaby main, the first incident saw a crew from Edlington station being called out a grass fire near to Pastures Lane just after 7pm and were on scene for around an hour.

A crew from Dearne were then called to a blaze involving rubbish and a garden fence on Hill Top Road, Denaby Main and left the scene by 10.50pm. 

Both fires in Denaby Main were believed to have been started deliberately, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. 

In Bolton-upon-Dearne, Dearne firefighters were called out to a deliberate fire involving garden waste on Carr Head Lane at 7.20pm and were at the scene for just under an hour.  

At 10.20pm, Dearne firefighters were called out again, this time to a rubbish fire on Recreation Road in Wath.

The fire is being treated as deliberate, added the spokeswoman.
