Muggers grab OAP's bag

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after an elderly woman had her bag snatched in Clifton.

The 84-year-old was walking towards the Post Office on Middle Lane when she was approached by two men.

One grabbed her bag and ran off to Gilberthorpe Street after the incident shortly before 11.30am last Tuesday.

The woman fell to the ground following a brief struggle, suffering minor injuries.
Both suspects are described as white, in their late 20s and about 5ft 5ins tall.

One was wearing a dark baseball cap, zipped-up black hooded tracksuit top and black trousers at the time.

The second wore a dark baseball cap and a dark waterproof top with red and white stripes.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened that morning, or anyone with information about this incident.
