Mugger steals engagment ring

A WOMAN’S engagement ring was stolen in a street robbery—when she held up her hands to say she had no cash

The 22-year-old was walking alone between garages at the junction of Hatherley Road and Selbourne Street in Eastwood.

She was approached by a man in his early 20s who demanded money before pointing to the 9 carat gold ring.

Police said the woman, who ran to the safety of her sister’s home, was unhurt but scared by incident at 1.50pm on November 17.

The robber is described as 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of mixed race with distinctive sunken and bruised eyes.

He was wearing a blue or black baseball cap and tracksuit and dirty white trainers. He was with a woman in her early 20s, who had long, straight brown hair and was wearing a cream-coloured jacket.
