MP John Healey tore into Boris Johnson and demanded he “explain himself” and resign as Parliament recovened today.

MP John Healey tore into Boris Johnson for “breaking the law” and demanded he “explain himself” and resign as Parliament recovened today.

After the Supreme Court ruled the Prime Minister’s decision to prorogue the Houses of Commons and Lords was unlawful, MPs went back to Westminster.

And Wentworth and Dearne MP Mr Healey (pictured) said: “I’m back in Parliament to demand Boris Johnson explains himself: why he broke the law, why he misled the Queen and the country about suspending Parliament at this critical time.

“No-one is above the law. If any of us broke the law there’d be consequences. If we did it at work we'd be sacked. Boris Johnson must resign. 

“This is not about thwarting Brexit. This is about Parliament doing its proper job. 

“MPs calling those in power to account for themselves on behalf of the public.”
