Motorists warned of motorway roadworks overnight

MOTORISTS using the M1 should look out for road closures this week, starting tonight.

The northbound exit slip road at M18 junction 1 (Bramley) will be fully closed overnight for three nights from tonight for carriageway repairs. 

The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am.

The northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight tonight and tomorrow night for general cleaning and maintenance. 

The entry slip road on the northbound M1 at Aston (Junction 31) will be shut from 8pm to 6am on Thursday night for general cleaning and maintenance. 

The southbound slip road at the same junction will be shut the following night (Friday) between the same times.

The Highways Agency said the closure would take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers would be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A spokesman said the works were subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances and would be carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
