Motorist (70) injured in carjacking in Bolton

A PENSIONER was forced out of his car in a carjacking in Bolton on Tuesday.

Police were called to Watermead at 6.03pm yesterday to reports that a Land Rover Defender had been stolen, a police spokeswoman said.

The owner was driving down Watermead when a Land Rover Discovery pulled up alongside him.

"It is reported that two men got out of the Discovery, approached the victim’s door and shouted at the driver to leave his vehicle," said the spokeswoman.

"After a struggle, the victim has fallen out of his car.

"One of the men is reported to have then got into the victim’s car and drove off."

The victim, a 70-year-old man, suffered minor injuries, she added.
