Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Moorgate collision

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in a collision near Thomas Rotherham College.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward after the 61-year-old rider was hurt in the accident on Moorgate Road at 1.25pm on Friday.

A spokeswoman said: “It was reported that a black Peugeot 206CC, travelling towards Rotherham General Hospital, was involved in a collision with a blue and white Suzuki GSXR motorbike, travelling in the opposite direction.

"The collision happened outside of the Vets4Pets and Tesco car park.”

 

The spokeswoman said the rider of the motorbike remained in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Anyone with information about the collision should call police on 101 quoting incident number 511 of July 14.
