Motorcyclist hurt in weekend Wath crash dies

A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a crash at Wath at the weekend has died, South Yorkshire Police confirmed.

The incident happened on Sunday on Manvers Way at the junction with Cawood Drive.

A red Ford Fiesta turned into the main road and collided with a Honda motorbike at 11.20pm.

A police spokesperson said: “The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Sadly he has since died.

“The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and has been released under investigation.”

Police are still appealing for witnesses to call 101 quoting incident 867 of January 9.
