Motorbike rider dies after collision

A MOTORBIKE rider died after a collision with a car in Whiston on Saturday afternoon.

The 65-year-old man was riding a yellow Honda motorbike on Worrygoose Lane.

He collided with a silver Vauxhall Zafira near the junction with Greystones Road at about 12.50pm.

The man was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General, where he died a short time later.

A police spokesman said specialist officers were providing support to his family.

Anyone who may have seen the collision or either vehicle before it happened is urged to call 101, quoting incident 553 of February 18.
