Motorbike and van destroyed in arson attacks

ARSONISTS damaged a van and a motorbike in separate attacks in a busy weekend for firefighters.

A crew from Rotherham station was called to a deliberate van fire on Rotherham Road, Parkgate, at 5am today (Monday) and was at the scene for half an hour, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Firefighters from Parkway station were called to a deliberate motorbike fire on Highfield View, Catcliffe, at 6.30am on Sunday, and left the scene at 6.55am, she added.

Rotherham station firefighters were called to Canklow Road, Canklow, at 9.40pm on Sunday to deal with a deliberate rubbish fire.

They were at the scene until 10.05pm, added the spokeswoman.
