Mistake moves Denis to Sheffield!

CAMPAIGNING Denis MacShane was left puzzled by this discovery—a postcode mix-up that appears to have relocated part of his constituency to Dinnington.

The Rotherham Labour candidate spotted the brand new street sign on Sheffield Road—which should read S60—close to the Centenary Way road improvements.

He said: “I was just driving past my friend’s corner shop along Sheffield Road and on to the recently done-up roundabout at Templeborough.

“To my astonishment, I saw that my constituency had been relocated to S25, which is Dinnington.

“I know David Cameron wants to reduce the number of MPs for Rotherham, but to relocate the centre of Rotherham to Dinnington I think would be a street sign too far!”

Rotherham Borough Council said the sign had now been fixed. It is thought council officials had confused the road with its namesake at South Anston.
