Millers touch base with Adeyemi

ROTHERHAM United have reminded Tom Adeyemi there is still a contract offer on the table and he is welcome to join in pre-season training.

The midfield man scored seven goals on loan from Cardiff City last season and with his contract up in South Wales, he is assessing his options. Adeyemi is tipped to stay in the Championship and has other admirers, thought to be Ipswich and Norwich, but Warne has made contact to see how he is getting on.

He told the Advertiser: "I spoke to Tom last week and he said he hadn't got anything sorted. I told him my offer still stands and he has offers but just hadn't made his mind up.

"In the meantime, I invited him to come and train with us and hopefully do a Harry Potter magic trick on him that made him want to stay here," smiled the Millers boss. "I don't think he will but if he hasn't got sorted out by this time next week then he will want to play a bit, so I've left it open for him.

"Unfortunately I think his career will take him elsewhere but you never know, our paths might meet in the future.

"He's a good kid and if he doesn't come here then I wish him all the best."

On his way? Bolton forward Jamie Proctor.

The squad reported back this morning and are soon expected to be joined by striker Jamie Proctor from Bolton Wanderers, the fifth summer arrival after Michael Ihiekwe, Darren Potter, Ryan Williams and David Ball.
