Millers star Noble spared jail

ROTHERHAM United midfielder David Noble has escaped a jail sentence after he broke a man's jaw in a city centre bar.

The 30-year-old former Bristol City player appeared at Bristol Crown Court today and was given a 12 month community order for the offence.

The court heard that he admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Tim Winterbottom at Java nightclub in Bristol on March 18.

Noble denied assaulting another man and the Crown Prosecution Service accepted his denial.

Noble was ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and pay compensation of £2,000 to the victim.
