RESIDENTS were forced to flee their homes this week after a mountain of 150,000 scrap types went up in a massive blaze this week.
The inferno at the former SR Gent depot off Whitelea Road, Mexborough, has brought angry condemnation from people nearby, who say a fire at the site was inevitable and more should have been done by the Environment Agency to prevent it.
The dump was illegal and had been there for more than two years.
