Mexborough man faces grievious bodily harm charge

A 31-year-old man appeared  at Doncaster Magistrates' Court this morning charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after an assault in Mexborough that left a local man with serious injuries.

Stephen Millns, who had been living in the Mexborough area, was arrested at a house on Victoria Street after the incident at around 8pm on Monday.

The injured man, who is aged 28, remained in a critical condition at Rotherham District General Hospital today.

Enquiries are ongoing and an incident room has been set up at Mexborough Police Station.
