Together, they will conduct a one-week training programme for hospitals and community mental health staff on screening for and treating mental illness.

As well as working in Harare, they will travel 278 miles to the country’s second city, Bulawayo.

Oliver, who is travelling as a volunteer, is now fundraising to pay for the trip.

He is also seeking donations of unwanted mobile phones, stationery and mental health textbooks, to help him deliver the workshops.

He appealed to anyone who can help his efforts to email him at [email protected].
