Matt Crooks facing fortnight out for Rotherham United

Crooks, who came off the bench in Monday night's epic 4-3 FA Cup second-round comeback win at non-league Solihull Moors, requires an injection to cure the groin problem which has been troubling him for more than a month.

The procedure will sideline the 25-year-old for a fortnight and the Millers plan to choose the quietest possible time in their fixture schedule for it to happen.

Clark Robertson also has a groin issue that needs injecting but the needle is less invasive in his case and the centre-half should miss only two days of training.

"With Crooksy, I'm trying to get a period where there isn't three games and it's just Saturday and Saturday," Warne said.

Robertson was scheduled to have his injection today, and both players should be available for Saturday's League One home test against Rochdale.

Playing as a left-back, Robertson was clearly in discomfort as Rotherham fought back from 3-0 down at National League Solihull to score four times in 15 minutes late on and seal a third-round tie at AESSEAL New York Stadium against Hull City.

"Robbo, he looks in pain big time," Warne said. "When I made the third sub, I just had hope he would hang on. It was a makeshift back four. I was fearing the worst."

Crooks and Robertson both travelled to London last Friday to see a specialist who recommended injections rather than surgery.

Meanwhile, Trevor Clarke, who started on the left wing against Moors, came off in the 26th minute at Damson Park with an ankle complaint.

"Trev has got an injury," Warne said. "He was struggling to move. It's a sore ankle. After ten minutes he wasn't moving right. 

"Every time he got the ball he lost it. He just didn't look himself. I don't like taking players off in the first half but I had no choice."
