Masked raiders steal jewellery in suspected armed robbery

THREE masked men stole jewellery after robbing a house in Moorgate.

Police officers were called to Moorgate Road just before 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) to attend the suspected armed robbery, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

"It is believed three masked men entered the property, taking a box containing jewellery," she added.

"They left in a vehicle and headed towards the Whiston crossroads.

"Investigations are in the early stages, and enquiries continue."
