Man’s body at Dearne Valley railway station ‘not suspicious', say British Transport Police

THE death of a man whose body was found at a Dearne Valley railway station yesterday (Wednesday) is not being treated as suspicious.

British Transport Police received a report of a casualty on the tracks at Goldthorpe station at 12.48pm.

Paramedics also attended but the man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene, said a BTP spokesman.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious,” he added.

The man has been identified and his family have been informed.

A file is being prepared for the coroner.
