Manhunt after car wash stabbing

POLICE have named a wanted man following a stabbing last weekend which left a Rotherham man with serious injuries.

Ahmedi Reza (23), originally from Iraq, has been missing since Saturday's attack at Jacko's Car Wash on Old Sheffield Road in Rotherham.

The 26-year-old victim was found around 1.45pm following the incident with numerous stab wounds and taken to Rotherham District General Hospital for emergency surgery.

He has since been treated and is at home recovering.

The attacker is believed to have later fled the scene towards the Wellgate area in a red BMW car. The car has since been recovered in the Spital Hill area of Sheffield.

The scene was cordoned off on Saturday and police have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries.

Detective Constable Jamie Henderson said: "We firmly believe this was a targeted attack. I urge anyone with information regarding Mr Reza's whereabouts to contact police immediately."

Mr Reza is described as olive skinned with short dark hair, 5ft 4in tall and thin with a lazy eye. He was last seen wearing dark bottoms and a striped t-shirt.
