Man tried to strangle rail passenger

A MAN put his hands around the throat of a train passenger who was travelling with his young daughter.

The incident happened between 7.54am and 8.25am on Saturday, October 14, on a train travelling from Sheffield to Doncaster, which is partly routed through Rotherham and the Dearne Valley.

A BTP spokesman said: “A man who was travelling with his young daughter was assaulted in an unprovoked attack by a male passenger.

“The male tried to strangle the victim by placing his hands around his throat.”

British Transport Police (BTP) have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
