Man taken to hospital and cat and dog given emergency oxygen after kitchen fire rescue

A MAN was given oxygen before going to hospital and a cat and dog were rescued by firefighters after an accidental kitchen blaze in Balby.

A MAN was given oxygen before going to hospital and a cat and dog - who also received emergency treatment - were rescued by firefighters after an accidental kitchen blaze in Balby. 

Three fire crews from Doncaster and Edlington stations were called out to the premise fire at Haigh Road at 8.30pm last night.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The accidental fire was in the kitchen. 

“Firefighters rescued a cat and a dog from the premise and gave them both oxygen. 

“The crews left the incident at 10pm.”
