Man taken to hospital after lorry overturns at roundabout

THE driver of a lorry which overturned at a busy roundabout in Manvers yesterday (Thursday) was taken to hospital.

The heavy goods vehicle ended up on its side at Capita roundabout on Manvers Way at around 7.05am.

The driver of the lorry was taken to Barnsley Hospital to be checked over, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

He is not believed to have been seriously hurt in the incident and no other vehicles were involved, she added.

Police were directing traffic around the overturned lorry during rush hour.

A forklift truck was used to unload the lorry and it was towed away at around 3pm.
