Man suffers serious cut to throat in Herringthorpe incident

A 28-year-old man suffered a serious cut to his throat in an incident at Herringthorpe Valley Road.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service shortly before 5.50am today (Wednesday).

Officers are continuing enquiries at the scene to establish what happened. One person at the scene said a property had been sealed off and police were using sniffer dogs.

A force spokeswoman said: “The injured man has been taken to Rotherham Hospital for treatment. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening.”
