Man stabbed to death in Rotherham named by police

THE VICTIM of a stabbing in Rotherham last week has been named and a third person arrested in connection with the incident.

Detectives revealed that Andre Lee (52), originally from London, was the man found dead on Herringthorpe Valley Road after they responded to reports of a pedestrian being in collision with a car.

Emergency services were called at 7.16pm on Sunday night (June 26), and after their initial enquiries, officers also received reports the individual may have been stabbed.

A postmortem examination concluded Mr Lee died as the result of a stab wound.

Last Tuesday (June 28), a third man — aged 25 and from Sheffield — was arrested on suspicion of murder. 

He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Two other Sheffield men previously arrested on suspicion of murder have also been released under investigation.
