Man seriously hurt in crash

A 22-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van in Maltby yesterday.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after the incident involving a red DAF box van on Grange Lane.

The vehicle, driven by a 37-year-old Doncaster man, was heading towards Braithwell at 8.15am when the collision happened near the Devonshire Road junction.

The pedestrian is in a critical condition at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital this morning. Police have asked witnesses to call 101 quoting incident 207 of October 9.
