Man 'serious' after beating

POLICE are appealing for information about an assault in Mexborough which left one man with several fractured bones and a broken leg.

Two men attacked the 46-year-old while he walked down York Street at around 6pm on Saturday, November 12.

The victim was also hit in the face. He is currently in Doncaster Royal Infirmary in a “serious but stable condition,” say police.

Two men aged 34 and 40 have been arrested and bailed since the incident.

DC Matt Dixon said: “This was a nasty attack which has left the man with serious injuries.

“I would urge anybody who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could help us with the investigation to come forward. All information will be dealt with in confidence.”
