Man seen with missing Swinton woman comes forward after CCTV released

A MAN spotted with missing Swinton woman Alena Grlakova during her last known sighting has come forward and provided the police with "vital information".

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said the man had got in touch last night after CCTV footage was released of him with Ms Grlakova at the Travellers Inn, Parkgate, just after 6.30pm on Boxing Day.

The footage was released as police stepped up their efforts to trace the 38-year-old Slovakian Roma, who has been missing for more than a month.

    A spokeswoman said: "We would like to thank him for his help and for everyone who has come forward with information so far.

    "An updated appeal will be released later today. 

    "Officers remain keen to hear from anyone who has seen or heard from Alena since she was last seen on Boxing Day leaving the Travellers Inn, Parkgate."
