Man remanded over Julie's murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of tragic stab victim Julie Ann Gallagher.
Julie’s ex-husband George William Gallagher who was charged last night, appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' Court this morning and was remanded in custody. He is now due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next Monday.
Mrs Gallagher’s body was found at a property at Foljambe Road, Eastwood, on March 27.
The 41-year-old died from a single stab wound to her chest.
A second man, aged 54, who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released from police bail.
