Man of Steel sculpture plans hailed

A PROJECT hoping to site a huge metal statue on the Kimberworth hillside has scooped two accolades.

Man of Steel picked up the Next Big Thing and People’s Choice prizes at Sheffield Business Awards.

A smaller version of the 40-metre tall figure has been created to showcase the £2.7 million venture, celebrating the area’s industrial heritage.

Sculptor Steve Mehdi said: “We are obviously delighted to win these two awards.
“I would like to thank all the companies and individuals who have supported the project and helped us to achieve this important milestone.”
