Man killed in fatal crash is named

Mr Kolt (64) was reported to have been crossing Doncaster Road near Silverwood Miners Welfare Club when he was hit by a blue Honda Civic.

It happened at about 8.20pm on Saturday, as the vehicle travelled towards Thrybergh.

The 20-year-old man driving was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.

A police spokesman said: “Officers investigating the collision remain keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the manner of driving of the Honda prior to the collision.”
