Man in "serious but stable" condition after suspected stabbing in Eastwood

A MAN remains in “serious but stable” condition after a suspected stabbing last night, police said.

Officers were called to Sumner Road in Eastwood last night at about 7.40pm after reports of a man with a neck wound.

A spokeswoman said: “It is believed the man was attacked in Sumner Road at around 7:40pm before staggering into nearby Cranworth Road, from where he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“The injured man’s condition is described as ‘serious but stable’.”

A 44-year-old Rotherham man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
