Man in hospital after serious assault in Wickersley

Police were called to Bawtry Road at 10:52pm after the man was reportedly assaulted by two men outside the Mason Arms pub.

"The man suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital," said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police.

"A 19-year-old man was arrested and has now been bailed pending further enquiries."

Officers are keen to speak with a second man they believe holds further information.

He is believed to have been wearing a grey tracksuit with a hoody covering his face. 

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or was in or outside the Masons at around this time.
