Man in hospital after Masbrough metal fire

A MAN was taken to hospital after a large fire broke out at an industrial area in Masbrough.

Fire crews from Aston and Rotherham stations were called to the scrap metal fire in Armer Street, Masbrough, at 2pm on Saturday and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"Crews dealt with a large fire in Masbrough involving scrap metal and machinery on an industrial space," said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. 

"One man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation."

Firefighters left the area at 4.15pm and the spokeswoman added the cause is yet to be determined.
