Man in hospital after Bolton-on-Dearne pub assault

A MAN has been hospitalised with a serious head injury after a disturbance broke out in a pub.

Police were called to reports that a man was injured outside the Dearne Tap at around 12.30am on Friday.

A police spokeswoman said enquiries found that the 48-year-old man had suffered a serious head injury during a disturbance inside the pub in Bolton-on-Dearne.

“The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition,” she added.

“A full investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the assault including reviewing CCTV and carrying out local enquiries.”
