FIREFIGHTERS freed a trapped man from his car after it collided with a tree in Treeton last night (Wednesday).

Crews from Parkway and Aston stations were called to Wood Lane at 7.05pm and spent 40 minutes releasing the man from the vehicle, a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Only one vehicle was involved in the collision, she added.

A police spokeswoman said the man was treated for a suspected broken arm and there had been no arrests or further action.
