Man found with slash wound in Rotherham Town Centre

A MAN has been hospitalised with a slash wound to his neck, after armed police responded to an incident in Rotherham Town Centre.

A MAN has been hospitalised with a slash wound to his neck, after armed police responded to an incident in Rotherham Town Centre.

The officers attended Canklow Road in cars and vans, at around 1.30pm today (Wednesday), after a bystander reported concerns for a man's welfare.

An air ambulance also attended, but the man was taken to hospital by road ambulance, an eyewitness said.

A police spokesman said: “We received a call from a member of the public who had concerns for the welfare of a man on Canklow Road.

“Officers came to the man’s assistance at around 1.30pm today. He has a slash wound to his neck and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
