Man found injured on Wellgate 'serious but stable' in hospital

Officers attended Wellgate at about 3.30am after reports of concern for the 53-year-old.

The street was closed for several hours as South Yorkshire Police secured the scene.

“No arrests have yet been made,” said a force spokeswoman. “Anyone with information which could assist with our enquiries, or who was in the area and saw the incident, is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 125 of June 19.
