Man fights for life after Wath shooting

A MAN is fighting for his life today after a shooting in Wath.

And police are hunting for the gunman after the shooting near the Everest Takeaway in Doncaster Road.

Armed officers went to the scene after several people called the ambulance service to report a man suffering from a gunshot wound at 8.40pm last night.

The victim was taken to hospital where he is said to have life-threatening injuries.

Officers are still on the scene and the road is closed with diversions in place. Police say enquiries are continuing today but there is no threat to the public.

Locals said theywere stunned by the shooting today.
