Man dies following flat fire in Kimberworth
AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man died in a flat fire in Kimberworth last night.
Fire engines from Rotherham, Elm Lane, Parkway and Central fire stations responded to the incident on Hill Top Lane at around 7pm on Wednesday evening.
Some neighbouring homes were evacuated whilst firefighters dealt with the blaze, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
The police and ambulance service also attended the incident.
A fire service spokeswoman said a multi-agency investigation into the cause of the fire was now underway.
