Man dies following collision in Rotherham

A MAN involved in a collision on Bawtry Road in the early hours of Saturday morning has died.

The 24-year-old was a passenger in a black Land Rover Freelander, which was travelling towards the junction with Centenary Way at around 12.45am.

It was reported the car left the road and collided with a tree, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

The man was taken to hospital and was in a critical condition but died yesterday (Sunday).

Police are continuing to investigate and have asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who saw the car prior to the collision, to call 101 quoting incident 48 of July 21.
