A MAN has been charged in connection to an armed robbery in Wath involving a fake gun.

A MAN has been charged in connection to an armed robbery in Wath with a fake gun.

Steven Waters (38), of Beauchamp Road, Kimberworth, has been charged with attempted robbery, having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and the production of cannabis.

The raid took place at Costcutter in Church Street at 9.55pm last Sunday, May 1.

Police said a man entered the supermarket armed with a suspected handgun and demanded money but left empty-handed, with no-one injured.

Waters appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Thursday and was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on June 7.
