A MAN has been charged after damage was caused at a supermarket in Conisbrough.

Joseph Lewis (19), of Chambers Avenue, Conisbrough, was charged with criminal damage in connection with an incident at a supermarket in Wembley Avenue, Conisbrough, at around 10.45pm on Saturday (1).

He was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.

Police said he had been released on police bail.

A second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault, a spokeswoman added.

A police dog from the force’s operational support unit helped to catch both suspects.
